The day-to-day affairs of the Association are managed by
William H. Whalen IV, the Executive Director. Governmental affairs are handled by
Donald Mazzullo, Richard Scanlan
and Amy Kellogg
of Harter, Secrest and Emery.
The Board of Directors meets several times a year to review current issues which may
have an impact upon the Industry and consumers. At these meetings they lay out
plans for the ensuing months' strategy.
Who are we and what do we do.
The New York State Movers and Warehousemen Association ranks
as one of the nations oldest and most prestigious associations serving the
moving and storage industry. It is not relying upon its longevity for success
but instead maintains a pro-active, progressive and forward-looking
policy--making it one of the industries most effective advocates.
A dynamic Board of Officers and Directors representing all regions of New York
State and all segments of the moving and storage industry meet on a regular
basis to further our associations goal. This goal is the advancement and
bettering of the moving and storage industry in New York State for all members
and their customers.
Our board of directors is made up of representatives from the Western, Northern,
Hudson Valley, Capital, Southern Tier, North Central and Central, and
Metropolitan regions. The Long Island Moving and Storage Association is also
represented on our state board.
The State association has developed specific committees to tackle problems that
effect our industry throughout the state and to develop ways and means for the
association to continue serving its members. All committees are chaired by
volunteers who work hard to insure the association and it members best
interests are looked after. These committees are;
Executive Committee
- Responsible for the management and affairs of the
Association
Nominating Committee

of officers and board members for future elections

for approval by the board of directors.

issues that could impact the moving and storage industry in New York
State.

the State Government.

of the association and works directly for the President and officers of the
association.
The association has a full time Governmental Affairs firm, Harter, Secrest &
Emery, who are our "Eyes and Ears" in Albany.
The association also has legal counsel available when required.
Rounding out our professional staff is an accounting firm which handles our year
