To become a member of the New York State Movers & Warehousemen’s Association a company must first meet strict criteria that demands professionalism in the industry. Before a member is accepted, the membership committee reviews records from the New York State Department of Transportation and the Better Business Bureau. If the company’s records show that they in fact meet the preset criteria they are then presented to the Board of Directors for final membership approval. Members must maintain a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau and the New York State Department of Transportation to continue as a member.
